Loved photographing this sweet little newborn and her family last week! What a beautiful and loving family! Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I loved taking them. :)

What happens when you combine two newly minted one year olds with two gorgeous cakes?! Stay tuned to find out!! But in the meantime, meat the two cake smashers: Milo (green backdrop) and Charile (blue). Such cuties!!
Rhythm and Ravi have been married for almost 5 years but by the way these two act around each other, you'd think that they had fallen in love just yesterday. They are so into each other. It was absolutely the most wonderful experience to be around them. Made me want to go home and give the old hubby a million hugs.
Was also really interesting to get to know these two. Ravi is in his second year in the MBA program at UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School (hence photographing at The Rizzo Center, Old Well, and McColl Building), and Rhythm is a dentist whose favorite part of the profession is extracting teeth (because of the challenge involved with variations in tooth shape, size and topography - hope I'm getting this right!). Ravi also loves traveling and gave me a bunch of hot tips for touring India on a motorcycle! Hope you love these pics as much as I do! Alicia and Jon are truly one of the sweetest couples I have met. They are soooo into each other and soooo into their friends and family. You could definitely feel the love at this wedding! Hope you enjoy a short sampling of the many great photos we captured on their big day. :)
As a short backstory, I first met Alicia and Jon last Fall when they contacted me to take their Engagement photos. They were super cute/cool when we got together at the Coker Arboretum on UNC's Chapel Hill campus: they brought bottles of their favorite beers as props, they changed outfits under a bush in the middle of the park, and they were totally down with throwing leaves in the air multiple times in a row to get a shot. This couple is no doubt outgoing! And their wedding at Top of the Hill Brewery was no exception. It was incredibly fun ...laid back, beautiful, and lively all at the same time. Enjoy! Was super jazzed when Avante contacted me to take not only an updated photo of their Vocal Group (first photo, below) but to also do the photo and design work for their upcoming new album cover (second photo, below). There is such an air of sophistication and professionalism about this group, both attributes of which sing through crystal clear during their performances, and both of which I think we captured beautifully (if I do say so myself) ;).
(The third photo was captured of my cheeky two year old when she photo bombed the studio session set up for taking photos of hats for the album cover! She sang her favorite song, Roar, by Katy Perry.) Phew, it's been a little crazy around here lately! Between my alter-ego job as a scientist, traveling for a conference, traveling for a wedding (which was wonderful, btw), and everything else in between, it's been hard to find a time to blog. But here we are, only around 5 months behind. Not too too bad ;). For this get-back-into the swing of things post, wanted to share a few personal photos from our summer vacation. Bart, Olivia, and I traveled to France to meet up with my side of the family, including my brothers, their girlfriends, my parents, and two sets of aunts and uncles from my mom's side (who live in England). It was awesome. We set up camp in the Loire Valley and stayed in a 5th century chateau only a couple miles from the beautiful city of Amboise. After a week exploring castles and eating/drinking lots of cheese and wine, Bart, Olivia and I ventured over to Iceland. We expected a brisk 50F (it was summer, after all), and found a frigid 25F with 35mph winds whipping off the ocean. We had fun none-the-less (the geothermal pools are awesome!) and Olivia learned to like hats in about 30 seconds flat. Hope you enjoy these few photos!
I looooved taking these bridal portraits of Courtney last weekend in her aunt and uncle's gorgeous gardens in Raleigh, NC. I loved taking them for many reasons: 1. Courtney and Cindy (who helped with lighting and logistics) are BFFs, 2. You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location and weather, 3. Courtney's dress and veil are STUNNING, and 4. Courtney is one of the most elegant brides I have ever seen/known.
Hope you enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed taking them! Welcome to my new blog! I can't think of a better way to start off new than with photos of this gorgeous couple's Engagement Session. It was sooo awesome to get together with Meaghan and Rob last Thursday at Fearrington Village in Chapel Hill in order to do their shoot. They are such a perfect couple, evidenced by their ease with each other. They are not afraid to be themselves and they love each other for that very reason. Hope you enjoy these photos, they seem to exemplify the very romantic love shared by Meaghan and Rob and their joint admiration of their gorgeous chocolate lab, Lily. :)
